We spend the same care and attention on our guests as we do our own pets and follow the same daily
routine...
* Each morning guests receive a bowl of their usual dry food (we stock most
major brands of rabbit and guinea pig food i.e, Supa Rabbit, Supa Guinea, Russell Rabbit, Gertie Guinea pig, Wagg Bunny Brunch,
etc, but if your pet is used to a variety we don't stock you'll need to bring enough of their usual food to last them
for their stay to prevent upset tums).
Then all guests are given a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, according
to their preference which you state on our booking form, along with unlimited supplies of fresh hay and water daily.
* Our guests then take turns in our large all weather play pens which are
filled with fresh Yorkshire meadow hay daily, along with natural boredom breaker toys, hideouts and tunnels to play in. Fresh
water is always available in the playpens.
Between April and October and when the weather is warmer
Rabbit and Guinea pig guests are given additional daily exercise in our runs on grass in the orchard so they spend most of
the day playing outside. We do not confine our guests to their hutch/cage all day, they spend as much time exercising and
playing as possible here, even when the weather is very bad they have play time indoors.
* Before your pets are transferred to the playpens we check their general health.
Rabbits are
checked daily for flystrike which can be fatal. We also provide fly insecticutors in the outbuildings and clean hutches and
cages every day to reduce the chance of flies being around our guests. We can also spray your Rabbit with 'Rear Guard'
when they begin their stay with us if you wish, this is given free of charge and is excellent in preventing flystrike, just
let us know if you would like them treated when you book.
Any long haired breeds will be
groomed at this time and nails trimmed if you have requested it.
* While guests are in the play pens we clean their hutch and give them fresh bedding. We hate dirty hutches as much
as your pets do!
* Then it's tea time for our
guests and they are given their second meal of the day and put to bed in their hutches.
* Should your pet show any signs of illness we will take them to your vet if they are local, or ours and administer
any treatments prescribed by the vet.
