Here at Critter Comforts we offer spacious purpose built accommodation which meets the latest RSPCA
recommendations for small animal housing.
The majority of our accommodation
is indoors in our outbuildings, in our 1/4 acre garden where your pet(s) will be guaranteed a peaceful, safe stay.
The outbuildings are naturally cool in summer but in particularly hot weather we provide air conditioning to ensure
your pets comfort. Likewise, in winter the outbuildings are lightly heated for our guests.
Our Rabbit and Guinea pig boarders are accommodated in our 6'x2'x2' hutches, which give plenty of space
for even the larger breeds of Rabbit.
We do also have some indoor wire Guinea pig cages for Guineas who are used
to living in these at home however our 6'x2' hutches are also available for Guinea pigs, just let us know which accommodation
they would prefer when booking.
In addition we have some outdoor hutches if you prefer your Rabbit or Guinea
pig to be kept outdoors, which can have runs attached permanently if your pet prefers permanent access to a run, please ask
for availability.
You are also welcome to bring your own pet accommodation if you prefer, to help your pet feel at
home.
We like our guests to be as happy
as possible while they stay with us, so we give them as much exercise and play time as possible each day. The Rabbits and
Guinea pigs take it in turns throughout the day exercising and playing in our large all weather playpens, and in addition
to this, in the warmer months, they spend at least 4 hours a day in our enclosed, sheltered runs on the grass in our orchard,
which is always very popular with guests. In the winter months and at times of particularly bad weather we give the Rabbits
and Guinea pigs daily play time indoors in the outbuildings, so whatever the time of year they always get plenty of daily
exercise.
The playpens have been built to
give our guests plenty of room to exercise and provide mental stimulation too with tunnels, log rolls and natural toys to
play with. Fresh drinking water and hay is always available in the playpens too.
We never allow boarders to mix except where pets are brought to us living together already, and accommodation is always
disinfected between guests.
If you are bringing
small pets other than Rabbits and Guinea pigs to stay with us e.g Hamsters, Mice, Gerbils etc, then you will need to bring
your own cage for them as, at present, we do not have our own housing for them. As with the Rabbits and Guinea pigs we try
to give them as much stimulation as possible through the use of toys and love and attention throughout the day.
We clean accommodation on a daily basis, replacing soiled bedding everyday.
